Joey Janela isn’t backing down as backlash continues over Sabu’s controversial final match at GCW Spring Break 9. After being accused of allowing Sabu to wrestle under the influence of kratom, Janela is now facing even more heat from wrestling fans — and he’s hitting back.

Janela took to Twitter to call out a fan who DM’d him with a shocking insult, saying, “Just now I had a guy with a John Wayne Gacy chest piece DM Me and call me a terrible person & that I should die… I was like brother you have a child molester that murdered like over 30 children tattooed on you… then he blocked me lol.”

The ongoing drama stems from accusations that Janela and GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale enabled Sabu to perform despite his physical condition. The fan claimed that Sabu was drugged with kratom to get through the match, a claim that Janela has denied.

“We didn’t give him kratom — his team did,” Janela previously stated. “Sabu was a grown man, he did what he had to do to get out there. I took care of him to the best of my ability. I didn’t think what happened halfway through would happen.”

Despite the criticism, Janela has remained defiant, telling the fan to “kiss my ass” after being asked to apologize for Sabu’s condition. He added, “Sabu’s friends and family are over the moon for what we did for him, once again f* you and kiss my ass.”*

The backlash hasn’t let up, and now Janela’s latest Twitter post shows that the insults are getting more personal. Whether the controversy will calm down anytime soon remains to be seen, but Janela clearly isn’t holding back.
