Joey Janela is dealing with a brutal injury that could put him on the shelf for a long time.

The former AEW star took to social media on Sunday to reveal that he’s not only dealing with a complete ruptured bicep but also nerve damage that has left him without feeling in two of his fingers. To make matters worse, he says surgery is coming fast.

Janela posted a statement on X detailing the severity of his condition. “In the hospital, just got to see a doctor. Looks like now after my match yesterday and attack today by Atticus, I not only have a complete ruptured bicep but also nerve damage to the arm that’s affecting my arm all the way down to the hand. I currently have no feeling in my ring and pinky finger. We are looking for options but it seems a major surgery is imminent in the morning. I’m sorry to everyone, things aren’t looking too good.”

This is a devastating situation for Janela, who has been one of the most active wrestlers on the independent scene since leaving AEW. The injury appears to have happened during a match over the weekend, and it seems an attack from Atticus Cogar may have made things worse.
