Joe Hendry is coming back to TNA—for one night, at least.

TNA Wrestling announced that former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry will be appearing live at TNA Genesis on January 17th, despite being currently signed to WWE. The event will air on PPV and TNA+, live from the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, Texas. TNA made the reveal with help from a pair of legends, tweeting:

“BREAKING: As revealed by The Hardys this morning, former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry will be appearing at #TNAGenesis LIVE on PPV and TNA+ on January 17 from the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, Texas!”

While Hendry’s WWE contract status has not changed, it seems the door has been opened for this one-off return appearance—something that’s sure to fuel speculation about the growing fluidity between wrestling promotions in 2026. This adds even more buzz to an already loaded Genesis card, which includes title matches, debuts, and a farewell bout.

Current TNA Genesis Card – January 17, 2026:

  • TNA X Division Championship: Leon Slater (c) vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Moose
  • Elijah vs. Mustafa Ali
  • TNA World Championship: Frankie Kazarian or Mike Santana (c) vs. Nic Nemeth
  • JDC Retirement Match: JDC vs. Eddie Edwards
  • Joe Hendry appears live

Hendry’s TNA comeback is a wild twist in a wrestling world that’s full of unpredictable moments—and one that fans will no doubt be watching closely. With so many eyes on this card already, Hendry’s appearance could be the moment that steals the show.
