Jim Ross spent a considerable amount of time with Vince McMahon in WWE, which meant he even drove around with McMahon. Ross eventually stopped that and he’s now revealed that McMahon was a very reckless driver.

While speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked about Vince McMahon being in a car accident recently. He recalled a time when he told Vince McMahon he didn’t want to travel with him anymore because he had children and wanted to be around for them.

Ross explained that he used to ride with Vince often, mainly because the other regulars like Pat Patterson and Bruce Prichard were worn out by the constant travel. Vince never took breaks and was always focused on business, which made the rides challenging.

“Yes, I vaguely remember telling Vince I didn’t want to ride with him anymore because I had children and I wanted to see them. I rode with him a lot because the other guys — Patterson and Bruce — Vince tapped them out. It was challenging, since he never turned it off. It was always about business.”

Ross said Vince McMahon drove recklessly and had a need for speed. One time, they were even pulled over by the Ohio State Police for going too fast. That made Ross start thinking it might be time to travel with someone else, since the high-speed rides were uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially since the shows were already over.

Good ol’ JR said it felt like being in a race, with Vince McMahon trying to be the fastest guy on the road. Jim Ross then admitted he didn’t even know Vince had been in a wreck recently.

“He drove recklessly and he loved speed. We once got stopped by the Ohio State Police because he was driving too fast, and at some point I started thinking, maybe I do need to change my way of passage, because those speeds were uncomfortable and dangerous. And we weren’t even in a hurry — the shows were already over. But golly, it was like a speed race. He loved speed and wanted to be the fastest guy on the highway. But yeah, I didn’t know he had a wreck.”

This comes after Jim Cornette recently revealed Vince McMahon once drove at 100 mph in a storm while Cornette clutched at his seat for dear life. Regardless, it’s clear that Vince McMahon’s intense personality wasn’t limited to the boardroom since it showed in every part of his life, even when he was driving.
