Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross has been diagnosed with colon cancer and is preparing to undergo surgery in the coming weeks. The AEW announcer shared the heartbreaking news on social media, thanking fans for their outpouring of support.

“Surgery will be scheduled in the next week or two,” Ross wrote, expressing gratitude for the well-wishes he’s received since making the announcement.

Ross, who last appeared for AEW at the Dynasty pay-per-view in April, has faced serious health battles in recent years. In December 2024, he provided a positive update after undergoing treatment for skin cancer, stating that his health had “improved immensely.”

This isn’t the first time Ross has faced serious health challenges. In 2021, he battled skin cancer and underwent 22 radiation treatments, a grueling process that he described as “the toughest thing I’ve ever been through.” Despite the intense treatments, Ross remained a fixture on AEW broadcasts, continuing to work whenever possible.
In 2024, he shared another update, revealing that his health had improved significantly, and he was feeling stronger than ever. Now, with a new cancer diagnosis, Ross once again finds himself in a fight for his life.
