AEW is kicking off 2026 with chaos, violence, and a stacked card—and now we’ve got even more reasons to tune in to the January 7 episode of AEW Dynamite, live from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Coming out of the explosive New Year’s Smash episode, AEW has officially confirmed that Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page will face HOOK and Powerhouse Hobbs in a No Rules, No Holds Barred, Lights Out Match. The match was made following a heated multi-man confrontation involving MJF, Samoa Joe, Kenny Omega, and several top names in AEW’s title scene.
But that’s not all. AEW also announced a major AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match featuring Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin, marking one of Benjamin’s most high-profile matches since joining the company.
And in a surprise bit of nostalgia, legendary commentator Jim Ross is returning to the AEW announce booth next week. With JR back behind the mic in his home state of Oklahoma, fans can expect a classic atmosphere for a show already loaded with violence and unpredictability.
Between a brutal Lights Out match, a championship-level clash, and the voice of wrestling making his return, AEW’s first Dynamite of 2026 is shaping up to be an unmissable event.
Which match are you most hyped for—Moxley vs. Benjamin or the Lights Out war? And how pumped are you to hear Jim Ross call the action once again? Let us know in the comments below.
