WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has been part of the AEW family since day one and he is clearly happy to be there. With that said, good ol’ JR made it clear he is in AEW to get his money.

While speaking to Inside the Ropes, Jim Ross was asked if he was surprised that Cody Rhodes left AEW. He said he wasn’t, because Cody had a major opportunity waiting in WWE where he could reach his full potential. In Ross’s opinion, Cody Rhodes had already hit his ceiling in AEW.

“No, because he had opportunity waiting on him in WWE land, and he can grow to his full potential by being in WWE. He kind of got as far as he’s going to get with AEW, in my opinion.”

Ross made it clear he wasn’t knocking AEW, saying they pay him well, he enjoys being there, and that the people are good, and also bluntly pointed out that he’s there to get his money, saying, “I’m not knocking AEW—they’re paying me well, and I enjoy my time there. They’re good people, and I get my money.”
