WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross might be single, but don’t expect him to jump into anything serious just yet.

During a recent episode of Grilling JR, the legendary announcer opened up about dating again now that he’s back living in Oklahoma—and it’s clear he’s not in any rush to settle down. When co-host Conrad Thompson teased the idea of Ross getting back out there, JR gave a typically colorful response.

“BlueChew puts the lead in your pencil, Conrad,” Ross joked. “It puts the lead in your pencil. And, as my daddy would say, ‘Son, you ain’t got nobody to write to.’”

Asked if he’s dating or open to it, JR made it clear he’s not closing the door—but finding “the right lady” hasn’t been easy.

“Oh yeah. Yeah. I don’t discriminate whatsoever, but I haven’t found the right lady yet,” he admitted. “I guess the older you get, sometimes you get less motivated… that’s where BlueChew comes in.”

But despite the humor, Ross admitted that there’s a deeper truth behind his hesitancy. He admits that now that he’s older, he just hasn’t found anyone to invest much time in since he doesn’t care as much.

“You still gotta have somebody to write to, and I haven’t found anybody I want to invest that much time in. That’s the bad thing about getting older—you don’t give a s***.”

Thompson then pitched a wild idea—could JR star in a dating game segment on the podcast next year? “I don’t know about that,” Ross laughed.

The comments are especially interesting considering that former WCW personality Missy Hyatt revealed in 2024 that she and Ross actually dated for two years following the death of his wife, Jan Ross, in 2017. On Café de René with René Dupree, Hyatt surprised fans by confirming her romantic history with JR:

“Honestly, me and Jim dated for a couple of years… So yeah, I’ve rocked his world. He’s rocked my world.”

Ross’s late wife Jan, tragically passed away in a scooter accident in 2017. Ross has spoken frequently about the loss, calling Jan the love of his life and his emotional anchor. Since then, fans have often wondered if the voice of wrestling would ever find love again. So, whether or not he finds love again, JR clearly still has plenty of heart—and humor—left to give.

Would you watch “Dating Game with JR” if Conrad makes it happen next year? And do you think there’s someone out there who could be the next Mrs. Ross? Drop your thoughts below!
