Jim Ross might be one of wrestling’s most iconic voices, but even “Good Ol’ JR” isn’t keeping up with WWE Monday Night RAW since its move to Netflix earlier this year.

On the latest episode of Grilling JR, Ross revealed that he hasn’t seen a single episode since WWE’s flagship show ditched cable for streaming. And it’s not out of protest—it’s simply because he never signed up.

“I think TV is here to stay for pro wrestling. I don’t really know. It’s a head scratcher to me, using myself as an example. I’m a huge wrestling fan. Have been forever. However, I’ve never watched one episode of Raw since it moved to Netflix. And not because I’m boycotting, I don’t have Netflix, and I haven’t gone to the trouble of getting it.”

Ross says his viewing habits are rooted in ease of access, noting that he still watches SmackDown because it airs on USA Network, which he already has. Netflix, on the other hand, requires extra effort—and that’s where the problem lies.

“So what happens on Monday night? I don’t, I don’t know. I read about it, I don’t see it, so I don’t know how well that’s working… Maybe it’ll catch on. However, I watched SmackDown on Friday night because I have access to it readily and easily on the USA Network. But I don’t have the where with it all to watch it on, to watch it on the Netflix app or the Netflix distribution area… I don’t see it being a difference maker. And I might be wrong.”

WWE’s blockbuster deal with Netflix kicked off in January 2025, marking a major shift in how the company delivers its weekly content. While the streaming move could bring in a younger audience, JR’s comments point to a clear issue: longtime fans might not be tagging along.
