The New Day’s heel turn got an extra edge on Raw with their brand-new entrance theme, but some fans were thrown off when captions during the broadcast credited legendary WWE composer Jim Johnston for the track. Turns out, that was just a mistake.

According to Fightful Select, WWE sources confirmed that Johnston was not involved in the making of The New Day’s new entrance music. The mix-up came from an error in captioning, leading some fans to believe Johnston was back in the fold. However, those within WWE made it clear that Johnston is still not with the company, and there are no plans to bring him back.

The actual track was created by Sayzee, with popular rapper Mega Ran providing the vocals. Mega Ran himself confirmed his involvement on Twitter after the song debuted on Raw. “I’m performing on here. SURPRISE! The blessings don’t stop! S/O to @Sayzee_Yfrwn,” he wrote.

Mega Ran has worked with WWE before, previously contributing to Xavier Woods’ Bow Down entrance theme during his King of the Ring run. Now, he’s helping to shape The New Day’s next chapter as one of WWE’s most despised teams.

With a new song, a ruthless attitude, and a win over Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee on Raw, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are proving they’re all in on this new direction. Whether fans will embrace this shift or keep booing remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—The New Day is making their presence felt.

What do you think of The New Day’s new theme and their heel turn? Should WWE bring Jim Johnston back, or is the new music direction working? Share your thoughts in the comments.
