Jim Cornette isn’t just frustrated with wrestling shows — now he’s taking aim at the ratings system itself.

While talking about TV viewership and how wrestling audiences are tracked on his podcast, the conversation turned to Nielsen and its recent changes to how ratings are measured. Cornette made it clear that the constant adjustments have left him questioning whether the numbers can even be trusted anymore.

He explained that Nielsen has changed its methods multiple times, which makes him believe the system is unreliable and confusing for anyone trying to follow wrestling viewership trends.

“And then they not only changed it back, now they changed it again. And now there are more people watching wrestling. And oh golly, there’s more people watching TV than we ever thought of and less people watching this streaming [stuff]. They don’t know what the [hell] they’re doing. I’m done with the numbers, too. Their gravy has filled my plate. It’s ridiculous… They have lost all their credibility with me.”

Cornette’s reaction adds to the growing conversation about how wrestling ratings are tracked today. With streaming numbers, TV audiences, and changing measurement systems all in play, many fans have found it harder to understand what the numbers really mean.

For Cornette, the bottom line is simple — if the system keeps changing, trusting the results becomes harder.
