Ricochet is in deeper trouble after his controversial MS comment — and now Jim Cornette is tearing into him while questions swirl about his AEW future.
While speaking on his YouTube channel on March 19, 2026, Jim Cornette went off on Ricochet for telling a fan he was “glad” they had multiple sclerosis — and Cornette didn’t hold anything back.
“Is that crossing a line? Yes, obviously. Look, even I’m the king of blocking people on Twitter or occasionally firing off on somebody if they really tick me off. But number one, if I spent my life doing it like this clown does, I’d be occupied all the time. I wouldn’t have time for anything else.”
Cornette made it clear this wasn’t normal trash talk — calling out Ricochet for going after something serious instead of keeping it about wrestling. He then questioned whether Ricochet even knows the difference between playing a heel and just going too far. Jim Cornette didn’t stop there — he framed the whole situation as insecurity and even suggested Ricochet should be forced to make it right in a real way.
“If you mock someone for something like multiple sclerosis, that’s insecurity. Being a heel is one thing, but bringing up someone’s debilitating illness because they criticized your acting — that’s next-level pathetic. Does he think he’s being a heel, or is he just an idiot who doesn’t know the difference? I think it’s both. I think he believes he’s playing a character, but he’s really just letting his real emotions take over. And honestly, I don’t think he’s exactly a genius either. At that point, why not make him do something like contribute to an MS foundation as an apology? Because that kind of behavior is just being an idiot.”
This all comes after Ricochet already tried to clean things up. He deleted the post, admitted he crossed a line, and apologized — but the backlash didn’t go away. And here’s where it gets serious.
A recent report suggested this has gone beyond social media and into AEW’s internal discussions. Bryan Alvarez dropped a line that made it clear Ricochet was in hot water with AEW management: “If he’s crossing his fingers, it’s hoping he’s still employed by the end of the week.”
AEW hasn’t said anything publicly yet — but between internal heat and Cornette lighting him up, this situation is clearly escalating fast. Ricochet went from one bad tweet to potentially fighting for his job— and now all eyes are on what AEW does next.
What do you think about what Jim Cornette said? Should AEW step in and take action against Ricochet after this, or is the apology enough? Sound off in the comments.
