Jim Cornette Gains Support for WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Many fans believe several wrestlers and personalities deserve a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, and Jim Cornette is one of them. That’s precisely why it comes as no surprise he has now received support for an induction, proving that his impact on wrestling is still remembered.

While speaking on the latest episode of What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone was asked why Jim Cornette hasn’t been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Schiavone called Cornette’s lack of a Hall of Fame induction “silly” and stated that Cornette deserves to be in it, saying, “Darren Staley says, ‘When will Corny get in as Jim Cornette?’ Why isn’t he in there now? I think that’s silly. He should be in there.”

Jim Cornette is one of the most controversial figures in wrestling today due to his strong opinions. He worked with WWE from 1993 to the early 2000s as a manager for stars like Yokozuna, Vader, and The British Bulldog. He also contributed to creative decisions, bringing his experience from Smoky Mountain Wrestling. However, he often disagreed with WWE’s shift toward entertainment-focused content, which led to conflicts with Vince McMahon.

Later, Cornette worked in WWE’s developmental system OVW, helping train future stars like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton. However, his outspoken nature and clashes with management eventually led to his departure in the mid-2000s. In fact, his last WWE appearance was in 2017 when he introduced The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express into the Hall of Fame.

It remains to be seen whether Jim Cornette will eventually get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame somewhere down the line, as anything is truly possible in the world of professional wrestling. After all, there is definitely a section of fans who want him to receive the honor.
