KnokX Pro Wrestling has been under fire after Raja Jackson brutally attacked Syko Stu at their show last week. People are still furious over what happened and it seems Jim Cornette wants the promotion to be shut down for good.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, JimCornette talked about Raja Jackson attacking Syko Stu at the KnokX Pro event. He said there is no excuse for any wrestling company to be run that poorly.
For him, the problem is that it has become too easy for anyone to call themselves a wrestler, even when they are not trained or experienced. He thinks many of these so-called wrestlers and promoters are amateurs who make the business look bad.
“There is no excuse for this on any level that any kind of operation should be run like this. And the fact that now it is so easy for everybody to just call themselves, ‘I’m a wrestler. I’m a professional wrestler. I’m a worker, and I’m working all the time, baby.’ In your **** heads. You goddamn amateurs. I’m so sick and **** fed up with this ****. None of y’all out there — I don’t care how smart you think you are — you ain’t as smart as you think you are when it comes to the **** wrestling business.”
Cornette explained that some people treat wrestling like a hobby, pretending to be wrestlers on the weekends while living normal lives during the week, and small promoters run cheap “mud shows” that damage the sport’s reputation.
Cornette also criticized fans who argue about things they don’t fully understand, saying most of them don’t know how the wrestling business really works. He also made it clear that KnokX Pro should be shut down.
“And whether it’s the **** guys that want to fantasize that they’re wrestlers on the weekends and then goddamn drink beer and **** shave half their heads on the **** weekdays to look like some kind of goddamn gimmick and parade around saying, ‘I’m a big-time wrestler,’ or the **** little jack-off local yokels that make Jack Pfefer look like P.T. Barnum, running these mud shows. Or the goddamn marks that want to dissect whose fault it is. ‘Well, he said he’s going to get a receipt.’ You **** morons on both sides of it — you’re all **** morons. You have a simpleton’s understanding of this industry that has almost been lost today because everybody thinks they’re **** smart. So, this wrestling school ought to be shut **** down.”
The attack at KnokX Pro got a lot of attention in mainstream news, but Cornette said this only hurts wrestling as a whole because the public doesn’t see the difference between WWE, AEW, or a small independent group. To them, it’s all just pro wrestling, and bad shows give the entire industry a bad name.
“This got so much publicity. Mainstream publicity. Yeah. Mainstream publicity where they just say, ‘a pro wrestler, a pro wrestling event.’ And you look at that, and people in the mainstream don’t know the difference whether it’s WWE, AEW — it’s just pro wrestling. Look at these low-rent **** shows. That’s what gives the wrestling business a bad name.”
To add to this, KnokX Pro allegedly instructed wrestlers not to cooperate with the police. KnokX Pro has removed all WWE affiliation from social media. WWE went a step further and removed the promotion from their talent recruitment page as well.
Many fans believe KnokX Pro Wrestling has hurt the wrestling industry’s reputation with this reckless incident. Because the attack received mainstream attention, the fallout showed that mistakes made in independent wrestling don’t just damage one small company; they harm the image of the entire business. So we’ll have to see what will become of the promotion in the end.
