Jey Uso just pulled off the biggest win of his career at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble, but he isn’t taking anything for granted. After outlasting 29 other men and eliminating John Cena to secure his WrestleMania 41 main event spot, Uso is reflecting on his journey and making it clear—he treats every night like it could be his last.

Speaking on Club 520, Uso opened up about his mindset in WWE, admitting that he’s always felt like he was one step away from being fired.

“I ain’t gonna lie, every year I’ve been wrestling, I thought I’d get fired. That’s how I think. That’s how cold it is. Everybody is coming. In this business, everybody is trying to come get the top spot. They are bringing in the little homies, and I’m on my way out.”

At 39 years old, Uso knows WWE is a “young man’s game”, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to step aside just yet.

“I’ve been on WWE TV for going on 15 years. I’ve always felt strong, but I feel the body creeping up. I just like stepping up and challenging all of them. They are gonna have to go through me and the top homies to take it. I’m not gonna let you take it if you’re not ready.”

Uso also reflected on the highs and lows of his WWE career, admitting that there was a time when he felt invisible.

“There was a moment in wrestling where there was no reaction or I wasn’t on TV and I’d show up to work and sit in the corner the whole time. What do I do? Every single night, I treat it like it’s my first time.”

Now, fresh off his Royal Rumble victory, Uso is feeling the energy like never before, making it clear that he thrives on the crowd’s reaction.

“The energy out there is crazy. I really vibe off that. If I’m going to take up time off TV, our segments are slotted out with certain time. If I’m out there and they are going crazy, you’re gonna have to cut some time from the segment after me because they aren’t going to get higher than what’s going on right now.”

With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, Uso’s future has never looked brighter, but his mindset remains the same—stay hungry, stay ready, and never take a moment for granted.
