WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler has spoken out for the first time since suffering a recent stroke—and his account is deeply emotional. In a new appearance on FOX 13 Memphis, Lawler opened up about the terrifying aftermath of his third stroke, including memory loss and the inability to recognize even those closest to him.

Lawler was rushed to a Florida hospital after the medical emergency occurred at his condo in Fort Myers. His daughter initially confirmed the news after he canceled a scheduled appearance, and fans feared the worst. Now back home in Memphis, Lawler is speaking publicly—and what he shared is heartbreaking.

“I remember lying in the bed in the hospital, and when people that I knew, like family members, came in, and I didn’t even recognize them,” he revealed during the interview.

Lawler went on to reflect on the wave of support he’s received since the health scare, offering heartfelt thanks to fans and friends.

“People kept coming out of nowhere to thank me and prayed for me and everything, and all of that means a great, great deal to me, and I wanna thank ‘em all for all that.”

Lawler has also been dealing with ongoing vision problems and memory lapses. At one point, the stroke’s effect was so severe that Lawler returned home and couldn’t even recognize his own house.

This recent stroke—his third—comes after a 2023 incident that impacted the left side of his body. The latest stroke affected the right side and slightly impaired his vision, but Lawler is reportedly able to walk and talk as he works through recovery.

Despite these setbacks, Lawler’s trademark resilience remains intact, and fans across the wrestling world are standing by him. His canceled appearance at HorrorHound Weekend has only made supporters more vocal with their prayers and messages.

Jerry Lawler has given wrestling fans decades of unforgettable moments, and now he’s showing that same fight in his recovery.
