WWE SmackDown’s March 27 episode took over the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jelly Roll was in the house to make the show even bigger.
Jelly Roll has become a mainstay in WWE recently. He worked hard to lose weight and compete in the ring, and this week saw the music superstar compete in his second official match.
Kit Wilson has been on a roll recently, as he calls out toxic masculinity all over the place. He set his sights on Jelly Roll, and it didn’t take long for the two to have a match. The World’s Most Famous Arena played host to this confrontation, and fans had no idea what to expect.
Prior to this match, Kit Wilson had a run-in with Danhausen. Before Kit could call the Very Nice, Very Evil one “toxic,” Danhausen cursed him. Then it was time for Wilson to take on Jelly Roll.
This match with Jelly Roll and Kit Wilson went down during the first part of the show’s first hour. Jelly came out ready to fight, but Wilson brought a book and wanted to defend his mother’s honor. Wilson said that Jelly Roll told a lie about banging his mother, but Jelly didn’t want to hear any of it.
Kit Wilson hit Jelly Roll with his book early on to get an upperhand. Then Kit nailed an uppercut in the corner, but Jelly was able to come back with an inverted atomic drop and a few strikes, including a Dusty Rhodes Bionic Elbow. Then he clotheslined Wilson out of the ring, which really upset the Pretty Deadler member.
When Wilson got back in the ring, he used a distraction to nail Jelly Roll. Kit Wilson applied more pressure after that, but Jelly Roll turned it around and hit a Jelly to Belly slam. The two traded shots for a bit more, and Pittsburgh was all about it.
Jelly Roll grabbed the poetry book again, and he swung at Kit Wilson, but then Wilson hit his finisher, but Jelly kicked out at two. In the end, Jelly Roll nailed the chokeslam and won the match. This contest was way better than it deserved to be, and we can only imagine that Jelly Roll will be back in a WWE ring soon enough.
