Jelly Roll is working an extended program that will culminate in a match at SummerSlam and now he’s revealed whose idea it was to work with him in the first place.
While speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Jelly Roll talked about his in-ring training at the Performance Center. He said he was working with Matt Bloom when Undertaker and Michelle McCool came in.
They asked if they could watch for a bit, and he told them of course. Undertaker and Michelle ended up staying for the entire three-hour session, standing by the ropes and giving him one piece of advice after another.
Jelly Roll also revealed how Kevin Owens and Jacob Fatu came in and spent three to four hours wrestling with him. He said these guys are pouring into him because they can see how seriously he’s taking it and how much heart he has for what he’s doing.
“I was training with Matt Bloom the other day and Undertaker comes in with Michelle. They come in and they were like, hey we wanna watch for a minute, is that cool? I was like, yeah for sure. The entire three hour session him and his wife stood on the ropes and gave me pointer after pointer.
Kevin Owens, Jacob Fatu came in and wrestled with me the other day for three to four hours. These dudes are like pouring into me because they see I’m trying to take it as seriously as I can. My heart is just to bring.”
The singer then revealed that it was actually Randy Orton who wanted to work with him for SummerSlam. When Randy got behind the idea, Jelly Roll couldn’t believe it. He thought it was incredible that The Viper wanted to be his guy.
Jelly Roll also gave a lot of credit to Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, saying he couldn’t thank them enough. To him, Randy is absolutely on his Mount Rushmore of wrestling, the true Apex Predator.
“When Randy jumped on the idea, dawg, when The Viper wanted to be my guy, I’m like, yo this is awesome. So Drew and Logan, I can’t thank ’em all enough. Definitely Mount Rushmore, the Apex Predator.”
Jelly Roll is set to team up with Randy Orton and square off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre in a tag team match at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event next month, and it’s clear he’s putting in the work. Therefore, we’ll have to see how Jelly Roll will perform in his in-ring debut.
