Jeff Hardy knows exactly when his life hit rock bottom—and now, for the first time publicly, he’s revealing just how long it’s taken him to climb back. In a brutally honest conversation on The Ariel Helwani Show, the wrestling legend opened up about his third DUI arrest and how that moment finally pushed him to get clean for good.

The host asked Jeff to reflect on his personal rock bottom after years of public struggles. Hardy didn’t sugarcoat it. He explained that his lowest moment came in 2022, sitting alone in a jail cell after his third DUI arrest—the same arrest that effectively ended his AEW run and made headlines around the world. Hardy admitted it felt like being trapped inside a nightmare he couldn’t wake up from.

“Rock bottom definitely for me would have been after the third DUI… in that cell… and not being able to wake myself up from a dream, because I’d had dreams about getting a third DUI. And that was definitely rock bottom for me. I didn’t know what was gonna happen, man. I was so afraid that everything was… I was just not gonna make it. Yeah… in that cell right after that third DUI.”

The conversation then turned to Jeff’s sobriety journey, with the host asking how long he’s now been clean. Hardy didn’t hesitate to share the exact number.

“Three years, two days, man.”

When the host double-checked the date during the interview, Hardy confirmed with pride.

“And today’s the 24th?”

“Today, yep.” Hardy replied.

Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, who’s been by his side through the ups and downs, shared how proud he is of the work Jeff has put in to finally turn his life around.

“His work on himself has been second to none… just the place he’s at in his life, I’m just so proud and so happy for him… because I’ve never… this is like the best version of Jeff Hardy personally I’ve ever seen that exists right now.”

After years of legal troubles, addiction battles, and missed opportunities, Jeff Hardy is now focused on staying clean, rebuilding his life, and making the most of his current run in TNA Wrestling.
