Jeff Hardy isn’t just adjusting his style—he’s actively building something new.
While speaking on the I Love Wrestling podcast, the TNA World Tag Team Champion revealed that time spent managing a neck injury has led him to create an entirely new submission move, one he believes hasn’t been seen before in wrestling.
The discussion came after Hardy explained how recent physical limitations have forced him to rethink how he works in the ring. Rather than rely on high-risk offense, Jeff said the situation pushed him to innovate. He explained that the injury unexpectedly opened the door to something positive.
“One thing that’s been an extreme positive from the neck injury — I think I finally, I know I finally got me a submission move. I’m working on it and perfecting it. It’s not perfected yet, but it will be soon.”
Jeff made it clear this isn’t just a minor tweak or variation of an existing hold. He believes the concept itself is new.
“There’s been so many submissions done with the human body, but it’s something that’s never really been done. So I finally — after all these years — I think I have me a submission that’s going to be a good one.”
Sitting next to him, Matt Hardy couldn’t resist jumping in with a joke that still underscored the seriousness of the change.
“Jeff’s gonna go strong 10 more years just as a submission wrestler.”
The reveal is notable not just because of Hardy’s reputation as a daredevil, but because it signals a long-term evolution. Instead of slowing down, Jeff is clearly thinking about sustainability—and about surprising fans again.
Whether this new submission becomes a regular finish or a situational weapon, Jeff Hardy is showing that even decades into his career, he’s still finding new ways to reinvent himself.
