Matt Hardy has revealed that efforts are underway to bring his brother Jeff Hardy back to Canada, despite the legal hurdles that have kept him out of the country.
During the May 29 episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt shared some promising news for fans who have been hoping to see the Hardy Boyz reunite in Canada. Jeff has faced difficulties traveling to Canada due to his past legal issues, specifically related to DUI arrests, which have led to his restrictions on international travel. However, Matt gave fans hope that a solution is in the works.
“We’re actively working on a solution for Jeff to one day be back in Canada. We’re hoping this happens sooner rather than later,” Matt said.
Matt also took time to reflect on his recent trip to Canada for TNA Wrestling’s Under Siege event, where he appeared without Jeff. Despite Jeff’s absence, Matt acknowledged the enthusiastic crowd in Toronto, noting that they were very appreciative of hard work.
“It was a great crowd. They appreciate hard work, and that’s exactly what they got. The venue was packed, and the energy was incredible,” Matt said.
Originally, Matt and Jeff were scheduled to challenge for the TNA World Tag Team Championships at Under Siege. However, with Jeff unable to make the trip, Matt teamed up with rising star Leon Slater to face the reigning champions, The Nemeths.
“Jeff was adamant about telling the truth as to why he wasn’t going to be there. He couldn’t make it, and we had to adjust accordingly,” Matt explained.
Jeff’s inability to travel to Canada is a direct result of his previous legal troubles, specifically his DUI convictions, which have had a long-lasting impact on his career. Canadian border laws are strict when it comes to allowing entry for individuals with criminal records, especially for those with impaired driving offenses. Although Jeff has been working hard to turn his life around, these legal issues are still preventing him from traveling to certain countries, including Canada. Despite these setbacks, Matt remains hopeful for the future.
“We’re working on a solution, and we’re hopeful that we can resolve this issue soon and get Jeff back where he belongs — with me and the fans in Canada,” Matt stated.
With all the drama surrounding Jeff Hardy’s legal issues and the ongoing efforts to get him back to Canada, fans are left wondering just when they’ll see the Hardy Boyz reunite on Canadian soil. While the solution may not be immediate, Matt’s optimism and determination show that it’s something they’re working hard to make happen.
