With reports swirling that Jeff Cobb could be on his way to WWE, the powerhouse wrestler finally addressed the speculation—but in true Cobb fashion, he did it on his own terms.
Amid rumors that WWE is closing in on signing him, Cobb has kept busy wrestling in Japan for NJPW, where he’s been tearing through the New Japan Cup. But today, he finally responded to the speculation on social media—sort of.
“I know I’ve been radio silent about the current situation, and I can’t say everything about it, but I can say a little bit, so here it goes……..” he wrote, before completely swerving the conversation.
“Yes, it is 100% true, Shota is still a cosplay loser and I’m on my way to NJ Cup finals to put a whooping on LIJ. Watch LIVE on http://NJPWWorld.com.”
Cobb once again sidestepped the WWE talk, instead using the attention to promote his upcoming New Japan Cup match—something he’s done before when rumors of a WWE move have popped up.
So, is Jeff Cobb actually heading to WWE, or is this just another case of him playing into the rumors? Fans will have to wait and see, but one thing’s for sure—Cobb is keeping everyone guessing.
