JD McDonagh has been off WWE television since January 27 after a scary injury left him with broken ribs and a punctured lung—but now, he’s breaking his silence in a big way.

On April 8, McDonagh took to Twitter and posted just four words that said everything fans needed to hear: “I miss wrestling.”

Attached to the post was a highlight reel of some of his best work inside the ring—a reminder of the intense style and high-risk offense that made him a standout in The Judgment Day faction.

This emotional post comes on the heels of a new report claiming that McDonagh is “very close to being cleared” for a return to action. Sources within WWE believe he could be back by the end of April, lining up with previous hopes that he’d recover in time to get involved before WrestleMania 41.

McDonagh was injured during a World Tag Team Title match on RAW where he teamed with Dominik Mysterio against The War Raiders. After attempting a moonsault to the outside, McDonagh’s neck smashed into the announce table in brutal fashion. Incredibly, he still finished the match—refusing medical help at the time, even as fans and officials realized how serious the injury was.

Since then, he’s been recovering in silence. But with WWE’s storyline chaos heating up and Judgment Day still a key presence on RAW, McDonagh’s return could shake things up in a big way. Whether he picks up right where he left off with Dominik or takes a different path remains to be seen.
