JD McDonagh has heard all the jokes about the size of his head, and at this point, he’s just rolling with it. Whether it’s Michael Cole calling him a Klingon or fans turning it into a chant, the Judgment Day member knows exactly what people are saying—but he’s got no plans to change who he is.
“I like my big Irish head. I guess it’s 2025, and people still think body shaming is okay. What do you want me to do? It’s my skull.”
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, McDonagh admitted that he didn’t even realize this was a thing until he left Ireland and started wrestling in the UK. That’s when the crowd chants really got creative.
“When I left Ireland. Honestly, I’d never heard a bad word against it until I left Ireland, and then I was in the UK wrestling, and the fans are so creative with their chants. So I was getting like, ‘He’s got the whole world in his head. He’s got the whole world in his head.’ Then, I just played into it. That’s all you can do.”
And play into it he did. McDonagh even made his head a crucial part of his offense. “I had a headbutt for a finisher for a little while. I’m always diving off the top rope head first.”
At this point, JD knows the jokes aren’t stopping—but does it bother him? Not even a little.
Should McDonagh keep leaning into the jokes, or should he shut them down for good? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
