WWE Hall of Famer JBL is obviously involved with WWE but he has made appearances in various other promotions over the years. As it turns out, it seems he was actually in talks to be part of the original All In 2018 event but plans never materialized.
While speaking on Something to Wrestle With, JBL revealed that he had talks about being part of the original 2018 AEW All In event. He said he explored different ideas with some of the people organizing the show.
However, those plans never came together as they eventually moved forward with Tony Khan and went in a different direction. JBL added that over the past 10–12 years he has considered various projects in wrestling, but for one reason or another none of them have ever worked out.
“There were some times where I flirted with different stuff — and during the time when that AEW All In came in — I flirted with just some different ideas about doing some things with some of the guys that were putting a lot of stuff together. It never worked out — because they kind of went on with Tony Khan and did some stuff and went a different direction. I’ve flirted off and on over the last, I don’t know, 10–12 years with doing something that, for one reason or another, has never materialized.”
Though the All In chance never happened, JBL is still a big name in wrestling. Regardless, fans really do wonder just how different things would have been if he was part of the original All In back in 2018.
What do you think JBL’s role might have been at All In 2018? Would you have liked to see the WWE Hall of Famer make an appearance on the groundbreaking show that helped launch AEW? Sound off in the comments.
