WWE Hall of Famer JBL hasn’t laced up the boots for a proper match since his WrestleMania 25 squash loss to Rey Mysterio in 2009—but that could be about to change.
In a surprise move, JBL uploaded a video on Twitter showing himself taking a bump in the ring for the first time in 16 years. The former WWE Champion looked shockingly smooth for someone who’s been retired for over a decade and a half.
“First bump in 16 years. Haha. Like a kid again, a real real old kid,” JBL joked in the caption.
He gave a shoutout to his coaches for getting him ring-ready again, specifically longtime wrestling trainers Jody Malenko and Al Snow. JBL also confirmed he’ll be appearing at a major Ohio Valley Wrestling event.
“Thanks to my coach Jody Malenko and Al Snow with OVW. I’ll be at the big show tomorrow in Louisville.”
While JBL hasn’t confirmed an official in-ring return just yet, the video has fans speculating whether he’s preparing for a one-off appearance—or something more serious—under the OVW banner.
JBL’s last match ended with a quick defeat and his abrupt on-screen retirement. Could Louisville be the place where the Wrestling God rewrites the ending? Fans are definitely waiting to see what he’ll end up doing next.
