Jazmyn Nyx will be parting ways with WWE after she was written off during the September 23 episode of NXT. Now that her exit is clear, Nyx has revealed why she chose not to re-sign with WWE.
Jazmyn Nyx took to her Instagram and uploaded a video and explained her choice not to re-sign with WWE, saying it was a personal and financial decision. The three-year contract WWE offered didn’t meet her needs, so she decided to move on.
Before joining WWE, Nyx played professional soccer in Iceland until she was recruited by the company, an opportunity she remains thankful for. Her early WWE career faced challenges, including four knee surgeries that required long recovery periods before she could even step into the ring.
Nyx also broke her nose, which led to wearing a mask, and suffered other injuries and concussions that kept her off television for stretches of time.
Nyx added that during her time with WWE she had to turn down other opportunities. Now that she has left the company, she plans to explore those options and take them more seriously as she considers her next steps.
“As you know, there have been things circulating and I wanted to set the record straight — I’m not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision. The contract they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially. That’s okay, but I wanted to give some background on everything. I was playing professional soccer in Iceland when WWE recruited me for this opportunity, which I’m grateful for.
Early on, I was held back — I had four knee surgeries and had to recover and rebuild my knees before I could even step in the ring. As some of you know, I broke my nose, which is why I was wearing my mask. I also had other injuries and concussions that kept me off TV for a while. Let’s just say there were other opportunities I had to turn down and pass up. Now that I’m out of a job, I can finally explore those options and take them more seriously.”
This comes after we had previously reported that Jazmyn Nyx chose not to re-sign with the company after they offered her a new contract, which is why she will be leaving WWE.
Even though injuries slowed her progress in NXT, she’s clearly focused on what comes next. Her determination shows she’s not done with professional wrestling or exploring other paths. Fans will be watching to see whether she signs with another wrestling promotion or go back to playing soccer in the future.
