Jazmyn Nyx is standing by her man. After a viral video surfaced appearing to show Bryton Constantin mocking a disabled child, Nyx is now setting the record straight and calling out what she says was a completely misunderstood moment taken out of context.

During her appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Nyx addressed the backlash head-on and insisted that what people saw in the short, edited clip didn’t reflect what actually happened.

“So… yeah, a lot came my way, but like I said, I don’t respond to things on social media. I never told my side of the story or cleared anything up before. Obviously, words carry a lot of weight — and so do actions. I think a lot of things online get misunderstood, taken the wrong way, or clipped out of context.”

Nyx made it clear she wouldn’t be with someone who actually disrespected others and that anyone judging from a few seconds of footage doesn’t know the real story.

“I know that if there were things that truly questioned my boyfriend’s character, I wouldn’t be with him. People who don’t know me might say, ‘Why would she stay with him if he’s doing bad things?’ But I know his character. I understand that some things he’s done may look bad or have been taken the wrong way, but they’re not what they seem. For example, that situation with the video — he was actually going out of his way to be kind.”

According to Nyx, the viral moment where Constantin gave the child a high five was genuine—not mockery—and accusations that she laughed at the child are completely false.

“It really was that simple. Yeah, the short, edited version made it look insensitive, but he was genuinely being nice. When he went to give that little boy a high five, it came from a good place — he wasn’t mocking him. The video was just clipped to make it look that way. People said I was laughing at the boy — absolutely not. I would never do that in a million years. I’ve never made fun of anyone, and neither has he.”

She mentioned that Constantin has worked with sick children and never speaks negatively about others. While she admits some of his word choices could’ve been better, Nyx insists his intentions were never malicious.

“It was all edited out of context. He’s a social, outgoing person, and sometimes that can come across differently on video. But that’s not who he is. He’s worked with us and with sick kids — he’s a kind person who doesn’t speak badly about others. So I knew people were misunderstanding the situation. I’ve learned that words can be taken in ways you don’t mean. He could have said things differently, sure, but in terms of his character — that’s not who he is.”

In the age of viral clips and social media outrage, Nyx’s defense is a reminder of how quickly perception can turn against someone without the full story. While the internet was quick to pile on, she’s making it clear she’s seen the full picture—and she’s not backing down.
