Jay White knows how to get people talking. On October 16, the AEW star fired off a one-word tweet that sent fans into overdrive, ““Ready?”

That cryptic post had many fans assuming the Switchblade was gearing up for a surprise return after being sidelined since March. But according to Fightful Select, the reality is far less exciting behind the scenes.

“Regarding Jay White’s ‘ready?’ tweet, most people around him still expect him to be out for a while,” Fightful reported, killing the momentum before it even started.

White’s been off TV since March 29 after injuring his hand during a match with Kevin Knight. That injury pulled him from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and forced AEW to cancel big plans for a marquee match against Will Ospreay at Dynasty.

To make matters worse, Fightful previously reported that White is also dealing with a shoulder issue, which would likely keep him out for the rest of 2025.

So while his tweet might’ve stirred speculation, the Switchblade’s comeback isn’t happening just yet — at least not according to those in the know.

Was Jay White just trolling fans with that “Ready?” tweet, or is something really going on behind the scenes? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think is next for the Switchblade.
