James Gunn Reveals Why Peacemaker Made Cameo Appearance in New Superman Movie

John Cena’s Peacemaker made a cameo appearance in James Gunn’s Superman this month and now the reason behind the cameo has been revealed.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, James Gunn explained why John Cena’s Peacemaker made a surprise appearance in Superman. He said the cameo would have happened no matter what, even if there wasn’t a new season of Peacemaker coming. Gunn liked the idea that Cena was going on an incendiary talk show and becoming an “ass****” on the show.

“He would’ve been in there no matter what. I like the idea that he’s going on this incendiary talk show, and he’s one of these ass***** that would be on that show.”

During the aforementioned cameo scene, Peacemaker was featured on Cleavis Thornwaite’s talk show, where he was blasting Superman after a huge reveal about Superman’s origins during the movie.

John Cena’s appearance as Peacemaker in Superman may have surprised fans, but James Gunn says it was bound to happen and definitely fits the character. With season 2 coming out next month, fans are definitely excited to see whether it can surpass the first season.
