Bad Bunny’s historic Super Bowl LX Halftime Show is hours away—but Jake Paul is doing everything he can to crash the party before it begins.
On February 8, 2026, the YouTuber-turned-boxer took to Twitter to call for a coordinated blackout of Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, accusing the Grammy winner of being anti-American. Paul didn’t hold back, directly attacking the Puerto Rican megastar’s citizenship and political views.
“Purposefully turning off the halftime show. Let’s rally together and show big corporations they can’t just do whatever they want without consequences (which equals viewership for them).
You are their benefit. Realize you have power. Turn off this halftime. A fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America. I cannot support that.”
Paul’s statement comes after backlash over Bad Bunny’s past comments—particularly his anti-ICE remarks at the 2026 Grammy Awards—and growing reports of a mass walkout being planned during the Halftime Show. Critics have accused the Puerto Rican artist of politicizing the stage, while others are promoting “alternative programming” to run during his set. Despite the controversy, Bad Bunny hasn’t backed down. At a pre-Super Bowl press conference on February 5, he said he was focused on delivering a performance rooted in joy and culture.
“I just want people to have fun… Of course, a lot of my culture. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it’s going to be fun!”
Former WWE personality Kayla Braxton also weighed in earlier this week, blasting the walkout movement and calling out the racial implications behind the backlash.
“Cool, if you’re walking out… can the rest of us rotate in and enjoy the show? Seats shouldn’t go to waste. We can keep them warm until your racism passes.”
Whether Paul’s boycott call has any real impact remains to be seen—but there’s no question this year’s halftime show has become one of the most politically charged in recent memory.
