Jaida Parker is speaking out — but not about the injury everyone’s asking about.
After WWE NXT announced on television that Parker is sidelined with a neck injury following her chaotic February 10 match against Blake Monroe, the NXT standout appeared on Busted Open. While fans expected clarity on her medical status, Parker steered the conversation toward her storyline suspension instead.
On the February 17 episode of NXT, interim General Manager Robert Stone informed Monroe backstage that Parker was out of action with a neck injury. The announcement came after their wild double countout brawl that saw officials get knocked down and chaos erupt at ringside. During that match, Monroe delivered a suplex that resulted in Parker landing on her head.
Despite that context, Parker did not address the injury directly during her Busted Open appearance. Instead, she focused on Stone’s decision to suspend her and remove her from the number one contender’s tournament for a WWE Women’s Speed Title opportunity.
“It wasn’t the easiest thing to hear from him, especially being suspended,” Parker said about Robert Stone replacing her in the tournament. “But he said, ‘Actions have consequences’ but if he realized, that was just a reaction to an action that was caused by Blake Monroe. But, we’re playing chess, not checkers. So, I just gotta get better. That’s all.”
The comment keeps the storyline tension alive while leaving questions about her physical condition unanswered. Parker was also asked whether she feels Monroe has been given opportunities too easily in NXT. Rather than dismiss Monroe outright, Parker offered a measured response.
“I wouldn’t say ‘handed’ because I feel as though everybody here earns what they are given, to be honest with you. There’s no disrespect anywhere. Blake (Monroe) does put in the work. I do see that and I see how she is in the ring but at the same time, you gotta get tested to see what you’re about and yeah, she’s been tested here but she hasn’t been tested by Jaida Parker at the end of the day.”
With no timetable announced for her return and no medical update beyond what aired on NXT, the focus now shifts to whether Parker’s absence is strictly storyline-driven — or something more serious behind the scenes. Her refusal to address the neck injury directly only fuels speculation, especially given how their February 10 match ended and the head-first landing during the suplex.
