Jade Cargill didn’t just change promotions when she left AEW for WWE—she entered an entirely different world.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the former TBS Champion pulled back the curtain on what it’s really been like transitioning into the WWE system. Cargill admitted she was ready for the physical demands, but the real shock came behind the scenes. Her first wake-up call? The full-speed pace of WWE’s weekly grind.

“The schedule is demanding. I knew that coming into it. Talking to Cody, talking to people who are already here. They told me how it was,” she said. “You never know how something is until you’re actually in it.”

But even more overwhelming than the calendar was the politics behind the curtain. Cargill said one of the hardest adjustments has been understanding how much relationships factor into success in WWE.

“It’s not just what you do in the ring. It’s about the relationships you have,” she explained. “I’m the type of person where I come in, I do my job. I respect everyone and I’m gonna leave like I have a family. I’m going home. It’s not like that. It’s not like that at all. It’s all about relationships in this game.”

Cargill admitted that her natural instinct to stay in her lane didn’t help. She found herself walking into an established circle—where many stars already have deep ties through their time in NXT. Her confidence may come off as arrogance to people who don’t know her, but she’s clear on her role.

“A lot of people, they have those relationships from NXT, so they all have been on road trips together. They’ve grown together,” she said. “I’m coming in right now. Who does she think she is? At the end of the day, I don’t control the settings. I’m just a player on the board.”

Asked if there’s anything she misses from AEW, Cargill didn’t hesitate—she misses the energy of wrestling with talent from the indies.

“Working with people who came from the Indies, it’s a whole different type of wrestler,” she said. “I was doing crazy things that I loved it like, because it showed me every day, ‘Oh my gosh. I can do this. I can do that.’”

In AEW, she thrived on experimentation. WWE, she says, has taught her to think differently.

“It’s a different formula. It’s about when you do it, and where to put it.”

Jade Cargill may be new to the WWE game, but she’s clearly learning fast—and not just between the ropes.
