Jade Cargill isn’t just dominating in the ring — she’s navigating the chaos of championship life by leaning on those who’ve been there before.

In a new interview on The Collection, the WWE Women’s Champion opened up about how Cody Rhodes helped prepare her for the emotional and mental toll of life at the top. Cargill reflected on her early days in WWE, where instead of rushing into the spotlight, she chose to sit back and study how champions handled the grind. One person who made a huge impact? The American Nightmare himself. She explained how she sought out Cody for advice as she began her rise:

“I would just watch. I would always ask Cody, like, are you tired? Like, how are you doing this? You know, he just had a newborn baby. I was just like—dude, I’m like, when are you home? You know, ’cause I have a child, so I have an entire family.”

Cargill wasn’t just asking about logistics — she wanted to know how Cody was holding up behind the scenes:

“And you know, I wanted to ask someone who has a family: how are you doing this? You know, how is your wife? Even though she’s been in—she’s in the industry or was in the industry—how are you dealing with this? How is your mental, you know? Not just your physical—how is your mental? You know, are you okay?”

According to Jade, Cody didn’t sugarcoat the truth but gave her something even better — grounded advice and perspective:

“And he just always gave me great advice of pushing through. And this is something that he’s always wanted. He’s not going to take it for granted. And you know, I resonate with that.”

That mindset stuck with her as she took on the pressure of being a WWE Champion, balancing personal sacrifices with the demands of her career.

“This is what I wanted. And I can’t be mad at the hard work that is thrown at me and put on my shoulders when I wanted this. I cannot. And if I don’t like it, somebody else will be glad to take that pressure off of me.”

Cargill’s honesty shows just how seriously she takes her role — not just as a performer, but as a professional and a mother. Her willingness to talk about the weight of it all proves that being a champion isn’t just about title belts — it’s about having the right support system and mindset to carry the crown.
