Jade Cargill shocked the pro wrestling world when she beat Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s World Title. She’s not finished proving herself, even though some fans have been a bit critical.
It’s hard to get over with every fan in the pro wrestling world. That kind of constant thing can be a real weight on anyone. Even Jade Cargill has dealt with that in the past.
Jade Cargill addressed criticism, media coverage, and online discussion surrounding her position in WWE during an appearance on the Beyond the Bell podcast.
Cargill was responding to remarks from Jordynne Grace calling her championship run “untested,” along with discussion pushing for Grace to receive a WWE Women’s Championship match, and addressed how she believes media relationships shape coverage regardless of results.
“I think she’s done things like—she knows whomever, knows all these reporters and stuff like that. And of course, they gonna have her back. But then when I beat her, what are they gonna say? 'Cause they gonna complain regardless. What are they gonna say? 'Oh, Jade beat somebody who just came from NXT.' 'Oh, Jade beat...'—because regardless of what I do, they gonna complain. They gonna find a way. They always gonna find a way. They couldn't wait to say something.”
Later in the conversation, Jade Cargill addressed reactions to her public image and confidence. She knows that haters are going to hate, no matter who you are.
“People gonna hate to love me regardless. Like, it is what it is. I just have that persona. I am the epitome of confidence. And for some reason, society tells a woman to be confident—but you can’t be too confident. You can’t be too confident. You can’t—like, ‘Who do you think you are?’ It’s like, no. I know who the hell I am. I’m Jade Cargill whether y’all like it or not.”
Jade Cargill concluded by speaking about her commitment to her career and her reasons for remaining active.
“They hate me because I could walk away. But I love what I do. And I’m gonna stay here, and I’m gonna put my hard work and time and effort into this instead of going home to my beautiful family and living a soft life.”
Jade Cargill is ready for her next challenger, and there is no shortage of Superstars who want a piece of her at this point. Only time will tell how long she is able to hold the title, but she is certainly going to keep going for as hard and long as she can.
Jordynne Grace has a lot riding on the idea that she can topple Jade Cargill. If anything, it would certainly be a huge bragging point for her in the future if the Juggernaut can beat The Storm.
