Jade Cargill is on her way to another WWE Women’s Title match after her surprising heel turn. While some fans were shocked, others saw it coming. For WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley, he claims to have predicted it.
Jade Cargill made her biggest move yet on WWE SmackDown during the October 24 episode in Tempe, Arizona. Tiffany Stratton had just picked up a win over Kiana James. After the bell, James teamed up with Giulia to launch a post-match attack. Just when things looked bad for Stratton, Jade Cargill ran in to make the save.
At first, it looked like a rescue. Cargill cleared the ring and stood beside Stratton. Then she stopped. Looked at her. And snapped. Jade Cargill hit Stratton hard and kept going. She beat her down around ringside. WWE officials tried to break it up, but Cargill wouldn’t stop. She finally picked up the WWE Women’s Title. She stared at it. Then left. The former TBS Champion’s heel turn was clear.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray wasn’t shocked. He talked about it on Busted Open Radio. According to him, he saw this coming from a long way off.
“Saw it from a mile, if not two miles, away. Just wrestlers' intuition, seeing how Jade was standing in the ring. Her positioning. Her movement. The very profound ways, she was handing over the title, going out of her way to be sugary sweet... 'Hey girl, it's going to be okay.' Yes. I knew it was coming.”
Bully Ray went on to say it worked, but he’d seen it before. He also revealed his true opinion that the overall turn wasn’t necessarily good.
“This is kind of the good and the not-so-good, I don't want to say the bad, because it wasn't bad. But good and not-so-good of the turn, in my eyes.”
According to Bully Ray, the turn followed “Wrestling 101.” The crowd responded the way it should. That made it a win. Still, he compared it to a classic formula that doesn’t need change.
“Don't f*** with it, because that type of heel turn... everything worked as it has always worked, that's why I always say '101.’”
Jade Cargill made her intentions clear without saying a word. Stratton may still be champion, but everything changed after that chair shot. Now, the two have a match for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.
This wasn’t just a betrayal. It was a direct shot at Tiffany Stratton’s title. It may be Tiffy Time, but a storm is coming. Cargill has lost to Stratton before, and she sent a clear message that things will be different next time.
