Jade Cargill’s return to WWE has stirred up plenty of backstage talk, but now, sources close to her are painting a different picture of how she handled the situation with Shayna Baszler.

According to Fightful Select, while reports circulated that Cargill made a comment that “Baszler needed to learn how to work” after their match in Scotland, those close to Cargill say she was actually more disappointed in herself for how things played out and was apologetic backstage.

The tension reportedly started when Cargill tapped out in what wasn’t supposed to be the finish, leading to some frustration between both sides. Though the situation had been kept quiet for months, Cargill’s return promo before Elimination Chamber—where she said she was “demanding respect” and was “surrounded by wolves in the shape of women all around her”—rubbed some talent the wrong way, reopening old wounds.

Now that it’s clear Cargill showed remorse behind the scenes, it raises the question: has the locker room truly moved on, or is there still tension bubbling under the surface?
