Jade Cargill thought she already had her WrestleMania 42 opponent figured out — and it wasn’t who fans might expect.

Speaking to Chicago Sports Network, Cargill revealed she initially believed she would be stepping into the ring with Charlotte Flair on the grandest stage. That plan never materialized after Flair failed to qualify for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Cargill admitted the result caught her off guard.

“To go off guard a little bit, I actually thought I was gonna take on Charlotte. So I’m really shocked to see that last Friday she didn’t qualify.”

Flair was one of several top stars competing in qualifiers for the Women’s Elimination Chamber, but she came up short — throwing a wrench into what Cargill expected to be a marquee showdown.

Still, Cargill made it clear the opponent doesn’t change the outcome in her mind. She rattled off possible challengers, including Asuka, Rhea Ripley, and Tiffany Stratton, noting she already holds a victory over Stratton.

“So it doesn’t matter, it can be Asuka, it can be Rhea, it can be Tiffany, I already beat Tiffany. It can be whomever, like I said, it doesn’t matter because I’m gonna come out on top as the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania.”

Cargill’s comments position her as locked in on one goal — leaving WrestleMania 42 with the WWE Women’s Championship — regardless of who survives the Elimination Chamber.

With Charlotte Flair out of the equation for now, the road to WrestleMania just became less predictable — but Cargill’s confidence hasn’t moved an inch.
