Jade Cargill didn’t just step into the WWE spotlight—she studied it. And now that she’s holding championship gold, she’s peeling back the curtain on what really went down after she won the WWE Women’s Title.
During a conversation with The Collection, Cargill revealed that Triple H wasn’t even there the night she won the title—but the message he gave her days later stuck hard.
“He actually wasn’t there that day… but that following Friday he did. He was just telling me how proud he was of me and, you know, how much I’ve grown in this company and that, you know, the hard work is just starting.”
But don’t think the pressure caught Jade off guard. She spent her first year in WWE watching other champions like The Miz and Cody Rhodes handle everything thrown their way—on camera and off. By the time her title reign began, she’d already mentally prepared.
“I sat back for the entire first year I was here and I watched the champions and I watched how you all dealt with the pressure and how you all dealt with your home life situation. And I asked a lot of questions.”
And she didn’t just prepare herself—she had a real talk with her husband before her title run even kicked off.
“One thing I did tell my husband prior to this run I’m having right now was, ‘Hey, it’s going to be a wild ride and I need you to hang on tight. I’m going to be sleepy. I’m going to be tired. I’m going to be all these things. I’m going to have all these feelings and I need you to understand what I’m doing right now and the purpose behind it all.’”
That kind of self-awareness and planning is why she’s thriving under the pressure. Cargill gave credit to WWE’s support system and the champions who came before her for setting her up to succeed.
“I wouldn’t say the weight is heavy as you would think because I have such a great supporting cast behind the scenes at WWE. And a lot of champions have groomed me to be in this position… me sitting back and watching them and trying to emulate what they were doing has prepared me right now to hold this gold.”
Jade isn’t just another wrestler with a belt—she’s someone who knew exactly what it would take and made damn sure she was ready. Whether it’s learning from The Miz, asking questions, or warning her husband that life was about to change, this is a woman who came in prepared to lead.
What do you think of Jade’s approach to becoming champion? Do you respect her strategy of sitting back, observing, and learning before taking over? Let us know in the comments—we want to hear your take.
