NXT Vengeance Day was a big show, and the final premium live event for the brand before Stand & Deliver. There were some important matches on the card, and that didnt’ even count a very important segment for the NXT Women’s Title.
Robert Stone is the current interim General Manager of the NXT brand. He had quite a task at Vengeance Day, as he addressed the current NXT Women’s Title situation.
After Tatum Paxley won the NXT Women’s North American Title, Robert Stone took to the ring, where he addressed the NXT Women’s Championship situation. He started out by introducing Jacy Jayne and Fatal Influence to the ring.
Everyone wanted to know what was next for the NXT Women’s Title. Jacy Jacyne was more than happy to take the microphone and address fans directly. Jayne brought up how fans once called her a “transitional champion,” and she is very happy about making the “losers eat your words.”
Jacy Jayne said that she’s been through just about every up and down she could in the business. She admitted to being paranoid about getting a call for her release, but that didn’t happen. Jayne said that she’s walking into Stand & Deliver with one of the most dominate title reigns in NXT history, and she said she should be the main event of the premium live event. She also called her shot at main eventing WrestleMania next year, and it doesn’t matter who the champion might be at the time. She beat Sol Ruca in less than six seconds, and she was also going to beat Zaria before Ruca got involved. Finally, Robert Stone cut her off and said that the goal is to find her next challenger.
Zaria came out after that and said that Sol Ruca is the only reason she’s not NXT Women’s Champion. Fallon Henley spoke up after that and said that Zaria has nobody to blame but herself. Finally, Sol Ruca came out as everyone expected. Ruca entered the ring while asking why Jacy is so desperate to convince everyone that she’s good enough, and then she gave Zaria some grief for turning on her.
Robert Stone got involved and said that Jacy Jayne deserves to defend her NXT Championship in Houston in two weeks on March 17. This will be a triple threat match between Zaria, Sol Ruca, and Jacy Jayne. After that, a brawl broke out between everyone in the ring, which resulted in a stand-off between Sol Ruca and Zaria.
