Jacy Jayne may have suffered a serious injury during the October 9 NXT live event, leaving fans worried about the future of the current NXT Women’s Champion.
The incident happened during a tag team match between Fatal Influence and Zaruca. According to fans in attendance, Jayne appeared to grab at her leg—specifically her quad—before quickly tagging out and falling to the mat. WWE officials acted fast, with the referee throwing up the “X” sign, a universal in-ring signal that a performer is injured and needs medical attention.
One fan who was there posted the following update on Reddit, describing the moment in detail.
“At the NXT house show tonight there was a tag match between Fatal Influence and Zaruca and towards the end of the match Jacy grabbed at her quad and tagged out of the match quickly after. Ref threw the X up after the match and when she tried to walk back under her own power had to be assisted by WWE medical to the back. Hoping for the best as she’s killing it right now on this current run.”
Video footage also showed Jayne limping badly as she exited the ring. She was unable to walk out on her own and was helped to the back by medical staff, indicating that the injury could be serious. Sean Ross Sapp later confirmed the injury on Twitter, stating:
“Referees came out and held up the ‘X’ for Jacy Jayne at an NXT live event, indicating an injury. Hopefully all is well.”
Jayne has been a standout recently in NXT, with her title reign and character work alongside Fatal Influence earning strong praise. She’s been on a hot streak, and this setback couldn’t have come at a worse time.
As of now, WWE has not issued an official statement on the injury or provided an update on Jayne’s condition. Fans are holding out hope that it’s not as serious as it looked and that she’ll be back in the ring soon.
