Jacob Fatu was taken out in brutal fashion during the October 17th episode of WWE SmackDown, and now we know when to expect him back.
The segment, which saw Fatu left bloodied with teeth scattered all over the ring following an angle with Drew McIntyre, wasn’t just for shock value—he’s now on the shelf and heading for surgery. Bryan Alvarez revealed on Wrestling Observer Live that the spot was used to write Fatu off TV so he can undergo dental procedures, but fans won’t have to wait too long for his return.
“They did an angle to get him out of the match. He was laying in a pool of his own blood and teeth — there were teeth all over the place. He needs some sort of surgery, something involving his teeth. He will be back by Survivor Series weekend. So he’s gonna be out for a while.”
We previously reported that Fatu was undergoing serious dental work—not cosmetic. He’s reportedly having his entire mouth worked on due to a health-related issue, and this new timeline confirms the severity.
With WWE Survivor Series set for November 29th, that gives Fatu just enough time to recover and get back in the mix before the end of the year. Depending on his condition, WWE could position him for another major storyline the moment he returns.
For now, Jacob Fatu’s next big fight is in the dentist’s chair—but once he’s cleared, it looks like he’ll be right back where he left off: destroying people.
Do you think WWE should keep Fatu heel when he returns—or should he come back with a whole new direction? Drop your thoughts in the comments and tell us what you’d like to see.
