The WWE Championship picture heading into WrestleMania is still taking shape, and a new report suggests that Jacob Fatu could be added to the mix in a big way.
Drew McIntyre currently holds the WWE Championship, but the road to WrestleMania remains far from settled. McIntyre has been feuding with Cody Rhodes, who is also competing in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match and is widely expected to factor into the title picture.
However, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Jacob Fatu has gained significant internal support within WWE creative as a potential addition to the WrestleMania WWE Title scenario. The report noted that multiple people within the creative team are backing the idea of including Fatu in the championship picture on WWE’s biggest stage.
The situation has also created urgency behind the scenes. It was said that several WWE departments responsible for WrestleMania promotional materials are facing deadlines, and there is concern internally that preparations may be falling behind due to uncertainty about the final match lineup. Some departments in Stamford are reportedly scrambling as they wait for confirmation on how the WWE Title match will ultimately be structured.
Despite the growing internal support, Fatu is not currently scheduled to compete in the Elimination Chamber match, meaning WWE would need to introduce him into the WrestleMania title storyline through another angle if plans move forward.
With WrestleMania rapidly approaching, the WWE Title picture remains fluid. Drew McIntyre sits atop the mountain for now, Cody Rhodes is firmly in contention, and Jacob Fatu could soon emerge as a major factor if WWE creative finalizes plans to include him.
