Jacob Fatu is making headlines again—this time for his heartfelt comments about the late Hulk Hogan.
During his Breakfast Club interview, the WWE newcomer was asked what Hogan’s passing meant to him, both personally and professionally. Fatu said he viewed it through two lenses: as a wrestler who understands Hogan’s historical significance and as a father who empathizes with Hogan’s family.
“Yeah, you know what? It just goes back to what Hunter said on SmackDown — Triple H, my boss, said it: we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him, ’cause he was at that time. But at the end of the day, what it means to me, coming from a father’s perspective, somebody lost their dad. I know y’all are gonna hear me talk about my kids a lot, because that’s just how I’m looking at it. Overall, just like Hunter said, WWE wouldn’t be nothing if it weren’t for him, first and foremost.”
The hosts then pushed the conversation into more controversial territory, asking about how some people immediately reference Hogan’s past racist remarks whenever his name is mentioned. Fatu didn’t shy away from addressing it.
“I don’t know him personally. I know the things that he said… yeah, he probably could do that, but he also was a motivation for a lot of wrestlers. He did put WWE on his back and make wrestling what it is today, especially in that golden era. But it just goes back to… that’s somebody’s dad at the end of the day. That’s just how I’m looking at it. Rest in peace to Hogan though — 100.”
Jacob Fatu’s heartfelt take on Hulk Hogan’s passing shows he’s not just thinking like a wrestler — he’s thinking like a father. While many still debate Hogan’s complicated legacy, Fatu made it clear that behind the headlines, there’s a family grieving a loss. His words cut through the noise, putting the focus on respect, perspective, and the bigger picture. What do you think about Fatu’s outlook on Hogan’s life and legacy?
