Jacob Fatu turned heads at WWE Money in the Bank 2025 when he stormed into the Men’s Ladder Match and cost Solo Sikoa the briefcase. But that chaotic moment may have set the stage for something bigger—a major shift in Fatu’s character moving forward.
According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Fatu is now expected to work as a babyface, while Solo Sikoa and his new partner JC Mateo will continue as heels. Meltzer shared this insight in response to a fan inquiry following the pay-per-view, noting that this direction aligns with WWE’s ongoing story arc.
This change in alignment follows a long-simmering rift between Fatu and Sikoa that finally boiled over Saturday night. As Sikoa climbed the ladder to secure the MITB briefcase, Fatu appeared, stared him down, and told him: “I hate you.” That moment officially broke their alliance and sent Fatu down his own path.
Tension between the two had been mounting for months, with a recent backstage segment showing Sikoa mocking Fatu behind his back—reportedly calling him “all gas, no brains” while speaking with JC Mateo.
Though WWE hasn’t formally confirmed any alignment shift, Meltzer’s report adds fuel to speculation that Fatu is being positioned as a top babyface in the Bloodline war. Meanwhile, Sikoa posted a pointed Instagram Story after the match, featuring a throwback image with Fatu—only this time, Fatu’s face was crossed out with a giant red X.
Fatu, the current United States Champion, has been carving his own path since WrestleMania 41. With Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa still out of action, the Samoan Werewolf may be flying solo for now—but his feud with Sikoa and Mateo is just heating up.
Do you think Jacob Fatu will thrive as a babyface against Solo Sikoa? Or should WWE have kept him as a dominant heel? Sound off in the comments below.
