Jacob Fatu isn’t backing down — but he is clearing up the biggest talking point from his recent comments, especially the part about potentially getting released.

After his earlier comments about potentially getting released sparked major discussion, Fatu addressed the situation head-on during an appearance on the Babyfaces podcast on March 26, 2026. And this time, he made it clear exactly what he meant — while doubling down on how real things are with Drew McIntyre.

Fatu started by shutting down the idea that his interviews are part of some scripted buildup toward a WrestleMania match, making it clear this situation isn’t about promotion — it’s personal.

“So what I’m tapping into right now with Drew is — man, it’s week by week. This isn’t no buildup. These interviews that we’re doing, I’m not doing it to build up WrestleMania matches. This isn’t no buildup, okay? This is just me speaking and talking.”

He then addressed the biggest point of confusion — his earlier statement about getting released if things went too far. According to Fatu, people misunderstood what he was saying, and he made it clear that the stakes are real, not hypothetical.

“And when I was talking and I said that, you know — no, I didn’t mean if — I didn’t mean I would get released if me and Drew go too far. No, I was saying I will get released, okay? Because I don’t play with it. I don’t play this. He’s taking food off my family’s table.”

Fatu went deeper into that mindset, explaining that his approach comes from years of grinding before WWE — not from chasing titles or limelight, but from real-life responsibility. He also called out how quickly narratives can spiral online, saying his words were being twisted into something they weren’t — and that’s part of why he wanted to speak out again.

“Before WWE, for 12 years, man, I did anything and everything I had to do. I never went online, I never complained, I never bitched, I never said, ‘Oh, I’m supposed to be in WWE.’ No, I grinded for mine. Okay, so this is what makes me different. And I keep telling cats, I’m not hot at y’all — don’t worry, we still all good. But they’ve got to be very clear, because the internet is a powerful thing. They’ll take anything you say, twist your words, and make it something else.”

And then, Fatu made sure there was absolutely no confusion left when it comes to McIntyre: “So therefore, Drew, take this down and write this down for the internet: Drew, every time I see you, I’MMA BEAT YOUR ASS. Okay? That’s all it comes down to.”

This doesn’t cool things down — if anything, it sharpens the edge of what’s already one of WWE’s most intense rivalries right now. Fatu isn’t walking anything back — he’s clarifying it, and making it even more direct.

Do you think Jacob Fatu is taking things too far with Drew McIntyre, or is this exactly the kind of intensity WWE needs right now? Drop your thoughts and feedback below.
