Jackie Redmond may be a familiar face in wrestling backstage, but don’t expect her to lace up the boots anytime soon—at least, not for a full match.
In a recent chat with Chris Van Vliet, Redmond was candid about her feelings toward stepping into the ring, revealing that while she’s not eager to compete in a match, she wouldn’t rule out taking a hit or slapping someone if the situation called for it.
“I mean, I don’t have any desire to be in a match or anything like that,” Redmond said. But, she added, “I do wish that superstars yelled at me more. I’m not gonna lie, that’s not really a thing that we do anymore, but I want them in my face. I want them to be mean to me. I actually really want that, please be a dick, be a jerk to me.”
Her comments highlight the shift in wrestling’s backstage dynamic, where confrontations have become more rare. However, Redmond didn’t shut down the idea completely, acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, she could get involved one day:
“It’s a different time, maybe one day. No, I don’t want to be in the ring, but I wouldn’t be opposed to slapping someone or taking a bump.”
While Redmond may not have wrestling in her immediate future, it’s clear she has an appreciation for the intensity and drama of the business. Fans will just have to wait and see if she ever takes things up a notch—whether in the ring or out of it.
