Jack Perry might be closer to an AEW return than anyone expected — and fan speculation about his role in a recent vignette just added fuel to the fire.

Perry, formerly known as Jungle Boy, hasn’t been seen in AEW since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear in November 2024. While he did wrestle at Wrestle Dynasty in January, where he failed to capture the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title from Yota Tsuji, he’s been off TV ever since.

But now, all eyes are back on Perry after fans began speculating that he was the masked doctor in Luchasaurus’ recent return video. During a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed the theory — and while nothing is confirmed, he didn’t shut it down.

“Well, if you’re ready for some RECKLESS SPECULATION, here we go,” Sapp said. “I asked someone close to Jack Perry on July 27 what was up with Perry, after our audience had been asking us very heavily about his status. They said that the wheels would be moving on him returning within a month or so, and that would certainly match up with him being in the Luchasaurus video.”

When Sapp directly asked an AEW source about Perry’s involvement in the video, he said the response was… silence.

“When I outright asked an AEW source if it was Perry, they didn’t reply, and I’ve often said that most people in the industry just avoid answering things instead of lying.”

It was previously reported that Perry had been backstage at AEW tapings earlier this summer, and that there had been internal discussions about his return. While plans involving a potential feud with Kenny Omega were once floated, they never came to life.

Perry has been off the grid since January — not due to injury, but simply staying home during his absence. Now, with the TNT Title picture shifting and Luchasaurus making his way back into the spotlight, Perry’s re-emergence could throw a major wrench into the AEW landscape.

Do you think Jack Perry was the masked doctor in the Luchasaurus return video? And if so, are you ready for his next run in AEW? Drop your theories in the comments.
