Jack Perry is back in AEW, and while he’s reuniting with Luchasaurus, he’s not fully stepping back into the Jungle.
After returning from a long absence and re-forming Jurassic Express with Luchasaurus, many fans expected Perry to revert to his old “Jungle Boy” persona that helped make him a breakout AEW star. But according to AEW’s official roster page, that’s not what’s happening Instead, Perry is now listed as “Jungle” Jack Perry, a hybrid that nods to his past gimmick while still leaning into the more serious persona he adopted during his heel turn.

This comes shortly after Luchasaurus dropped the Killswitch name and reverted to his original identity, signaling a full-circle moment for the Jurassic Express duo. The roster update shows Perry isn’t ditching the “Jungle” name entirely—but he’s also not going back to the full “Jungle Boy” branding that once defined him.
The change feels like AEW’s attempt to evolve the character while acknowledging his roots. Perry’s evolution has been slow-burning since he turned on HOOK and joined The Elite last year, leaving behind his boyish nickname in favor of a darker, more complex identity.
But with Luchasaurus by his side again and their first major match back together taking place this weekend at AEW WrestleDream in St. Louis—where they’ll face off against former Elite allies The Young Bucks—it’s clear AEW is ready to spotlight the revamped tag team in a big way.
Whether the name “Jungle” Jack Perry sticks or leads to something else entirely, one thing is certain—he’s not the same kid swinging from vines anymore.
Do you think “Jungle” Jack Perry is the right move for his character, or should he fully embrace either Jungle Boy or a brand-new persona? Let us know in the comments!
