AEW All Out saw Jack Perry and Luchasaurus reunite as they took out the Young Bucks. This marked Perry’s first appearance in several months and now Perry has admitted his hiatus went longer than expected.
While speaking to VICE, Jack Perry admitted his AEW break lasted much longer than he expected. He originally thought he’d only be gone for a month or two, but circumstances kept him away far longer.
Perry explained that from the moment he and Luchasaurus split as a tag team, they always planned to reunite in some way. Perry also felt he had such a strong run the year before that it would be hard to top it right away, so returning now felt like the best timing for both of them.
“I did not know I was gonna be off for as long as I was. I thought I was gonna be off a month or two and then be back. But then things just change a lot and that’s how it goes. I will say, Luchasaurus and I were always going to be back together doing something. We knew that from the day that we broke up as a tag team the first time. I also felt I had such a good run the year before. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to top that right now.’”
Before his return at AEW All Out, Jack Perry was last seen back in November 2024, where he dropped the TNT Title to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear. AEW even planned for Perry to have a feud with Kenny Omega but those plans got scrapped as well.
Jack Perry’s return with Luchasaurus marks both the continuation of their story and a fresh start for Perry after a much longer break than planned. With the Young Bucks clearly in their crosshairs, we’ll have to see how AEW will book them in the coming weeks.
